What’s Next? How Tall Are You?

How often I found where I should be going only by setting out for someplace else. Buckmaster Fuller.

These are changing times. Society is undergoing a huge transformation. That’s what a pandemic does. It focuses the mind and the heart and forces honest, strategic thinking. A RESET is always challenging.

The willingness to start down a new road is always scary. Getting beyond outdated, limiting beliefs and behaviours in order to fashion a new version of ourselves is always stressful. But it is what it is.

Is this resonating? Could it be your time to think about taking another road?

Starting down a new road isn’t easy. It’s all about sewing seeds of new expectations for yourself and others, too. It’s about putting down conventional techniques, outdated dictates of society and rules of the market place. It will take a ton of courage thoughtful planning, hard work and much sacrifice. So what else is new?

That’s a tall order, I know. It’s not for everybody, but you’re not everybody. In the words of T.S. Eliot, “If you aren’t in over your head, how tall do you know you are?”

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

I hope to see you here again soon.

Embrace The New

Courage is the power to let go of the familiar. Raymond Linquist.

The pandemic has brought with it massive change on so many levels, no more so than in the marketplace, forcefully driven by technology and social media.

It demands that you change your way of thinking – reliant not solely on your linear, left brain side nor with an over emphasis on the creative, right brain side, but in using both, unafraid to listen to your intuition, then taking that information and filtering it through your rational mind to a new space, between the two spheres. The middle space.

This is where you are at your best – following your hunches and then using your smarts and and experience to bring your work to successful fruition. It is there where the practical and meaningful solutions for today’s upended world reside.

It isn’t easy and it’s always a juggling act, but here are three tips to get you there:

  1. Have the courage to think outside of the proverbial box. That’s where the status quo isn’t.
  2. Build on a bigger future, even though you can’t always see it.
  3. Stick to your convictions – and do your best work.

When you do, wonderful things can happen. Life sparkles when you are open to new possibilities – working in the middle space,  willing to let go of what isn’t working anymore and embrace the new.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

I hope to see you here again soon.

Keep On.

Go as far as you can go. When you get there, you’ll be able to see farther. Thomas Carlyle.

Of the many traits successful people exhibit, one of the most valuable is persistence. They have learned, usually through trial and error, that success doesn’t come over night. They know there are no quick fixes. No short cuts.

There is just hard slogging, consistency, generosity of spirit, transparency and an over-riding belief that when faced with a challenge they will prevail. Sometimes they don’t even know why. They just know that they will.

And so they keep on keeping on.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

I hope to see you here again soon.

Positive Self-Talk

Promise yourself  that you will talk health, happiness and prosperity as often as possible. John Wooden.

Success doesn’t magically land in your lap. There are a number of factors that determine your level of success. Among the many, top achievers know that positive self-talk has a huge bearing on their success.

Never underestimate the strong belief you have in yourself and the value of positive self-talk.  You have to constantly remind yourself that underpinning  all the work, sacrifice, commitment to your goal, your belief system ultimately determines your outcome.

If you don’t believe it you can’t do it. If you do,  you can.

Sunny Days!

Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you. Charlotte Witton.

So much of living well has to do with our attitude. Take OPTIMISM for a moment. Optimism creates opportunity; pessimism cuts it off at the knees. Expecting good things to happen leads to your taking positive, productive actions that keep you moving forward toward your goal.

It’s the old ‘glass half full or glass half empty’ thing. While some people are more naturally optimistic and hopeful than others, we all get up in the morning and decide how we see the day – is it a cloudy or a sunny day? It’s your call.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

I hope to see you here again soon.
