Take A Different Route To Work

Boredom is the route of all evil – the despairing refusal to be oneself. Soren Kierkgaarde.

Doing the same thing, month after month, year after year inevitably leads to boredom. Sheer, numbness of the mind that is guaranteed to produce ennui and squeeze the joy out of your life.

The way out of boredom begins with a change of some sort. To change is to grow. We all need to grow. Growing is as necessary as breathing. Humankind thrives on the new and different. It is in our DNA.

Change, though, is something most have a great deal of accepting. To the fearful, it is threatening because it means things might get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things might get better. To the confident change is inspiring because the challenge exits to make it better.

Change can be disruptive. No doubt about it. But when you’re engaged in something you love doing, you never see the time. Happiness is a constant companion.

Doing what you love, finding that thing that gets you up every morning is a challenge. It doesn’t usually come without a lot of thought, sacrifice and hard work.

Easier said than done, I know. But there it is.
