Doing the Right Things

Recently I came across something called The Rotary 4 Way Test – a personal and business ethical guideline penned some 60 years ago by Herbert Taylor, a member of Rotary International in Chicago:

  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Doing the right things rather than doing things right takes courage. It certainly isn’t always easy and often comes with a cost, but that doesn’t mean we should turn a blind eye.

In the words of Tony Blair, sometimes it is better to lose and do the right thing than to win and do the wrong thing.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay engaged.

I hope to see you back here again.

As always, thank you for reading me.
