Being in the company of negative people is never fun. They will suck the positive energy right out of you, if you let them. If you let them is the operative phrase.

They’ll drag you down and can bring your best laid plans to a screeching halt.

Doom scrolling is not helpful. Many people spend their whole day looking for what’s wrong. Naturally, of course, they can easily find sufficient reason to reinforce their point of view. Especially in these crazy times in which we are living.

Stay alert. Aim high.

Do whatever you can to remain upbeat.

Vow to fly with the eagles and not with the ducks

In his or her life each person can take one of two attitudes, to build or to plant.

Builders may take years over their tasks, but one day they will finish what they are doing.

Then they will stop, hemmed in by their own walls. Life becomes meaningless once the building is finished.

Those who plant suffer the storms and the seasons and rarely rest.

Whatever your dreams or aspirations, whether they are personal or professional, it’s always good to remind yourself that nothing you do in life that has any real value ever comes easy. There always seems to be something…

It’s at those “something times” that you need to work especially hard at staying positive. Draw up a targeted list.

Mindful of the fact that if there is something you want, if it’s not written down, it’s not a goal. It is only a wish.

Hang out with positive people. Step up your exercise regime. Eat right. Sleep right. Regularly write out your thoughts and objectives. Make a note of the progress you are making – and what you still need to do.

All things at first appear difficult, sometimes even impossible. But if you’re being honest and doing the work, the future and success (what ever you’re doing, however you’re measuring it) will arrive on schedule.

There will be days when you wonder how you are going to make it all happen. It won’t be easy.

But, hey!

There’s a new year knocking on the door.

In spite of the cynics and pessimists, there are good things going on all around us and amazing initiatives in the works.

All over the globe, there are people like you, thoughtfully doing their best everyday for themselves and others, refusing to give into the greed, lies, fake news and all the social media madness.

They are special, these people.

In spite of it all, they have made an active choice to stand up what for they believe in and, to that end, continue to work towards a better world.

Not blindly, but rather with a hard-earned experience and unfailing optimism, they embrace the new year and celebrate another chance to get it right.
