Leadership

Men make history and not the other way around. In periods when there is no leadership, society stands still. Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better. Harry S. Truman.

Leaders are honest with themselves and then with their constituents. Leaders embrace change, foster hope and a can-do spirit. They embrace what is right and not just the right thing to do.

Leadership is like good art. We can’t always describe exactly what it is, but we know it when we see it.

Exactly what we need. Like right now.

What Would Bring You Happiness?

The minute you begin to do what you really want to do, it’s really a different kind of life. Buckmaster Fuller.

If you could do anything you wanted to do everyday, what would it be? If money, time, health or relationships and anything else were not an issue, how would you spend your time, and with whom?

These are big questions that will take some time to answer, because we all have become accustomed to doing what we have to, instead of what we want to, and have constructed our lives accordingly; but we are in different times now. The pandemic has forced all of us to step back and examine our lives.

So here’s the thing: We all only get one life. Is your current plan the right one? What would it take to create the kind of life you really want for yourself?

Hmmm..

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

I hope to see you back here again soon. As always, thanks for reading me.

Looking Forward To Mondays (Again)

All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. Ralph Waldo Emerson.

The more experimenting, the more new ideas take root. New ideas are the life blood of growth. They naturally grow out of a creative bent of mind.

Ah, you may think, but I’m not creative. Not true. Some are just more creative than others.

As children we started out being open and curious, willing to explore everything and anything, but as we grew into adulthood, we learned to censor our ideas, fearful of being scorned or ridiculed, going along to get along: Until at some point, many find  their lives getting thinner.

When you stay within the limits of what you already know, life can become dull.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Not if you don’t want it to be.

Adding zest to life is about taking chances, trying something new, unafraid of falling down but courageously always picking yourself when you stumble.

If you’ve been wanting to do something but have been holding back, there isn’t a better time than now to stand up and move ahead… and start looking forward to Mondays (again)!

Over to you…

PS. Sometimes having a savvy, experienced life coach to help you work through the strategic steps is just the ticket. I am here to support you in your search.

Make Each Day Matter

What you think you become. What you feel you attract. What you imagine you create. Buddha.

when-you-imagine-you-create-drew-simmie

Finding one’s way isn’t easy, especially today. Sorting out what’s real from fantasy, coming to grips with what’s truly important, requires many personal values and attributes, including deep introspection and self-examination, honesty, self-esteem, personal commitment and the willingness to do the hard work.

Oh, did I mention courage?

Everything flows from courage. It’s the foundation upon which all our other actions stem.

Each of us creates our own experiences by our thoughts, feelings and actions… painting a picture, if you will, of ourselves and how we can be the best version of ourselves that we can be.

It takes a lifetime to build a life. Everything we think, say and do, every move we make, is creating our future success. Our thoughts and deeds create who we become.

But in your search, no one can do it for you. It’s up to you.

There is no short cut, no mysterious roadmap to creating a equanimous life style and no specific timetable: Everyone arrives at this point at their own speed but only when they are ready. If you’re not there yet, don’t give up. Just keep at it.

On the extraordinary journey of life there are no ordinary days.

Make each day matter.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

PS. While it is true that each of us has to find our own way sometimes having am a street-smart, experienced life coach to help you work through the strategic steps is just the ticket. I am here to support you in your search.

I hope to see you back here again soon. As always, thanks for reading me.
