The future is called ‘perhaps,’ which is the only possible thing to call the future. And the important thing is not to allow that to scare you. Tennessee Williams.
The other thing is to remember is that your future, in large part, has a lot to do with what you are doing today.
The question is this: Is what you are doing today moving you towards or away from how you see the future?
Obstacles are things that a person sees when he takes his eyes off the goal. Joseph Cossman.
In the 24/7, pressure-filled, media driven environment we are all living in, it’s so easy to get totally distracted, lose your focus. and get discouraged. The todo list just seems to get longer and longer.
When that happens, here’s a tip to help you get back on track, feel inspired and productive again.
Stop for a few minutes. Review that list. Chop it down to the three things (the most important) you absolutely must do this week to get closer to achieving your goal.

Fill in the blanks. (You know what they are). Then review what you need to do to make sure they get done. Step by step, one thing at a time, rather than trying to do everything and accomplishing nothing.
Every moment of every event of every man’s life on earth plants something in his soul.Thomas Merton
In our increasingly fear-based, negative thinking, distrustful society thinking positive thoughts takes continuous effort and faith, in yourself and others – but it is important because that’s how everything good begins.
First comes the thought and that springs the word. From the word comes the deed that in time becomes a habit.
Over time the habit hardens into character – which is why we must always be aware of our thoughts and keep them loving and kind.
Today’s economy is global, interconnected and interdependent. It is a market of infinite choices, environmentally sensitive, driven by technology and media dominated. It is a tough field.
It has created a new business model that demands that you work in a new space – reliant not solely on your linear, left brain side nor with an over emphasis on the creative, right brain side, but in using both, unafraid to listen to your intuition, then taking that information and filtering it through your rational mind to a new space, between the two spheres.
This is where you are at your best – following your hunches then using your smarts and and experience to bring your work to successful fruition. It is there where the practical and meaningful solutions for today’s today’s new market reside.
It is always a juggling act, but here are three tips to get you there:
Have the courage to think outside of the proverbial box. That’s where the status quo isn’t!
Build on a bigger future, even though you can’t always see it.
Play the game with joy.
When you do, wonderful things can happen. Life sparkles when you are open to new possibilities – working in the middle spaces, between the two spheres.
True happiness comes from the joy of deeds well done, the zest of creating things new. Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
It’s true. it’s not the new goal or objective , it’s the act of striving to reach it that sets off the spark of energy and creativity.
But to set out on a search for it, you first have to put down your old story. That means having the courage to be willing to step out into the unknown, without being certain of the outcome.
But here’s the thing: You can’t move forward without first putting down the past, the old stories that have lost their relevance and meaning. You are not the same person you were when you first started out on your journey, following the script of the stories you were told by family, friends, business associates and society at large.
Putting down your past frees up your creative juices and reawakens your courage.
