If you want to know your past, look into your present conditions. If you want to know your future, look into your present actions. Chinese proverb.
In a world that continues to get flatter and competition just keeps getting more fierce, vying to be first takes courage and not being afraid to fail; perhaps to even do something you have never done before.
In today’s environment driven by innovation and constant change, if you want to lead the orchestra there are times when you must turn your back to the audience.
There is so much talk these days about how sorely we are lacking leadership – in every sphere.
So what is a leader? She or he is someone who is confident – doing what they believe is the right thing to do, to see things through, even as they are mocked or ridiculed. They are willing to take risks and go the extra mile for their side. They believe in themselves and in their ability.
They are open to change, have a desire to improve themselves and others. They are willing to learn, to ask questions and accommodate others views and opinions.
They are insightful and have a keen understanding of human behaviour and able to convey the emotions that influences people’s actions.
They are committed to the company or the group, committed to being their best.
And by word and deed, they inspire and influence others to be their best and impel them forward.
But when we look around, we see very few examples of leadership – at every level. What we see and hear, instead, is expediency, spin, shading or hiding the truth and concern about getting reelected instead of doing good.
Leadership doesn’t come from the invested top. It can only come from the bottom, from the ground up – individually, from within, one person at a time.
Nothing can add more power to your life then concentrating all your energies on a limited set of targets. Nido Qubein
Creating a meaningful future takes many things, including discipline, hard work and a razor sharp focus on your objective. And it is not easy. Whenever you feel your spirit faltering, here are three self-empowering questions to ask yourself:
1. What am I doing today that is moving me closer to my goal?
2. What new information have I learned today?
3. What action am I taking today to increase my energy level?
Your future is built upon the actions of your todays. Do it now.
The ability to know your perceptions are accurate has to happen without other’s validation.
Intuition is not the result of diet, rituals or aid chimes. It’s the natural consequence of having self-esteem, the greatest power you can have. With self-esteem, your life can broaden into an adventure because you can know in you gut that you can handle the unknown. And that you can handle helping others without fear, which is liberation.
