The Urge To Share

In our narcissistic, “all about me” society, so many of the old-fashioned values seem to be slipping away… like sharing.

sharing

What is time, if we don’t share it?

What is passion, if we don’t share it?

What is experience and knowledge, if we don’t pass it along?

Where would we be?

Where, indeed, if we lose the urge to share?

Enthusiasm

Emerson

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. Emerson.

Whatever your dream or project you must be excited about it. Excitement leads to action, without which you’ll lose the momentum

And without momentum the dream will die.

Do it now.

Quality is a commitment.

“Everyone here has the sense that right now is one of those moments when we are influencing the future.” Steve Jobs.

Aware / Creative / Collaborative / Inclusive / Service-driven / leaner…

These are just some of the words that describe the leaders of successful enterprises in today’s economy.

Whether you are leading yourself or your own business, here are five questions to ask yourself:

  1. What real value are you adding?
  2. What major problems do you help your customers solve?
  3. How much do you really care?
  4. How hard are you prepared to work?
  5. What are you willing to sacrifice to get to where you want to go?

Doing the right thing isn’t always easy. In fact, in many instances, it is usually the hardest thing, but in this environment, it is the only choice.

Quality isn’t just a standard. It is a commitment – to yourself and, by extension, to your customers and those you care about most.

Sell Every Day.

The ultimate measure of a person is not where they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but where they stand in times of challenge and controversy.
Martin Luther King Jr.climbing_mountain_250

Nothing of any value comes without hard work and discipline. Caught in the valley between the death of an old era and the birth of a new one, some days the mountain just seems to get higher. Climbing it isn’t easy.

As the old wisdom saying goes, “If the mountain were smooth you couldn’t climb it.” Think about that…

In these changing times, success is only going to come to those who are not standing still, doing the same things they have always done. No,no,no… you  have to change up the offering, reframe your value proposition.

Competition is coming from everywhere. Get out there. Don’t except the status quo. Be open and curious. Keep learning and growing.

Keep climbing the mountain… and sell everyday.

It is up to you.

The future is called ‘perhaps,’ which is the only possible thing to call the future. And the important thing is not to allow that to scare you. Tennessee Williams.

Nothing can add more power to your life than concentrating all your energies on a limited set of targets. Nido Qubein.

Life is not perfect. Everyday there are fresh challenges and what look likes insurmountable odds. You cannot always know what is up ahead but whatever your plans or aspirations, there is one thing you can know for sure:

If they are to see the light of day, to bear fruit, it is going to be up to you.
