Dancing Between The Raindrops

drew_simmie_storm

If you are presented with an opportunity to make your difference, keep on walking. And don’t look back.

It’s hard to escape the daily onslaught of bad news: The constant drum beat of defeat in the media, the never ending litany of fear, uncertainty and negativity seems endless.

The naysayers and doubters would have us believe we’re doomed. It’s only a matter of time they say… (who is they, anyway?) It’s all too easy to think, why bother?

Don’t let them crush your spirit.

Sure, there are lot of issues that must be addressed, but as ominous as the sky may look, it is not falling in. There are many people just like you, never giving up, doing what they believe is the right thing to do, moving ahead, making a difference.

Life isn’t about waiting for the sun to come out but rather learning how to dance between the raindrops!

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

As always thank you for reading me.

Hope lies in dreams, in imagination, and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams into reality. Jonas Salk.

Special Moments

father_daughter

In these words I can sum up everything that I have learned about life: It goes on. Robert Frost.

Living at the speed we live today, it is all too easy to forget that time is so precious and that we need to constantly strive to make as much room as we can for the people we love and care about.

You can get so focused on the big stuff that you often overlook the small things and the events – especially when it comes to family and friends – that can make such a difference in your life and theirs and can turn seemingly ordinary moments into something special.

Things and events can and do blind us to life’s special moments… those special ‘magic’ moments that remind us of the human connections in our lives that are so important.

PUT THE PHONE DOWN. Be more compassionate. Share joy. Be kind, more patient. Listen more attentively. Choose your friends with care.

If you strive to be spiritually strong, supportive and positive, make it a rule to seek out those who exhibit similar attitudes.

At the end of the day, it’s not just about you. It’s about others, too.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

As always thank you for reading me.

GOOD NEWS: In keeping with the changing COVID times, I have embarked on the next phase of my journey, principally working 1:1 with a select group of entrepreneurs and doers, each of whom are seeking their own path and new ways of understanding these changing times; helping them to dig deeper and take their dreams to greater heights. Start Afresh

It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves – in finding themselves. Andre Gide.

It is not over yet, but as the pandemic slowly begins to recede and the lockdown eases, most are anxious to resume the pattern of their lives as they knew it.

Not so for a number of others. After much thought and serious self-reflection, many have decided it is time for a change. To start afresh.

Sometimes a fresh start is difficult. Even as it naturally comes with an initial burst of motivation, starting over isn’t as easy as it sounds. There will be times with as many downs as ups. And take much longer than you expected.

Fresh starts are not for the weak of heart. Often it means doing something you’ve never done before; but as you start out again, don’t be deterred by what you don’t have and what you don’t know. Once you’ve got the plan firmly in place, start working and do the best you can with what you’ve got.

A move like this is all about your courage, your mindset and your attitude.

Life is a journey, not a destination. Take it one day a time. Keep believing in yourself and do the work. The rest is all details.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

As always thank you for reading me.

Life is a high wire act without a net.

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage. Anais Nin.

high-wire-act-drew-simmie

From time to time many of us have experienced occasions when we silently think about chucking a job or a career in which we have long ago lost interest and starting something new, something we have never before – only at the last moment to back off, afraid of failure.

The majority prefer things and situations over which they have control and that are predictable. It’s better that way, they think, safer.

Better the devil you know than the one you don’t, goes the old adage. Wrong. When you buy into that falsehood, you do yourself a great disservice.

There is nothing sure in life. There are no guarantees that you will always be successful when you try something new, but when you step back from something of which you know you are capable and think is for you, you are selling yourself short.

You won’t know until you try. If not now, then when?

Life is a high wire act without a net.  The only failure is the failure to try. And the only way to get over the fear factor is to screw up your courage and do the thing you fear, over and over until you don’t fear it anymore.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

Thank you, as always, for reading me.
