It isn’t down on any map. The true places never are. Herman Melville.
Life isn’t always sunshine and roses. Sometimes it’s bloody tough.
When it’s the latter and there are days when your courage is thin, double down. If it’s a big problem, break it up into smaller, manageable bits. Find the solution, one bit at a time. Repeat.
Remember, life is a marathon, not a sprint. Take each day as it comes and show up for work everyday.
And never, ever, give up on yourself.

The thing always happens that you believe in.
Frank Lloyd Wright.
The road to success is never easy. There are no secrets or silver bullets. What there is is you and a number of strategies every successful leader knows, whether they are leading themselves or others. Here are just six among many:
Live your live with passion. Love what you do.
Focus on what you do best. Leverage your special abilities.
Take responsibility for your life. It’s all up to you.
Learn from your mistakes. We learn more from our mistakes than our successes. Learning from your mistakes gives you the opportunity to grow.
Be persistent. No matter how discouraged or against the odds you feel, hold on to your dream and refuse to give it up. It’s OK to shift your view but it’s not OK to take your eye off the prize.
Be open to change. Challenge yourself to change, to look ahead and move on. Things change. Life changes. If you are willing to alter your beliefs, habits and behaviours, you open up to new possibilities and opportunities.

There should be no discrimination against languages people speak, skin color or religion.Malala Yousafzai.
Like a pair of giant needles, technology and globalization have knitted us together. Whether we live in Toronto, Toledo or Timbuktu, our world has become a global village, increasingly interdependent, interconnected, demanding we broaden our world, like it or not.
Broadly speaking, a world view is a set of expectations and biases we have formed that shape how we see and feel about people in other nations, even in our own neighbourhoods – each of them with their own world view.
Accommodation isn’t easy but as distances continue to shrink, it is good to remember that, regardless of where we stand on the globe, most people are just trying to get through the day, striving to live out their personal destinies and be the the best they can be.
We are not the same, of course. Our cultures, religions and societal differences can make strangers of us all – but only if we let them.
The songs we sing, the stories we tell, sounds and words that to others may sound foreign, even threatening.
Still, as the world continues get smaller and, in these times, meaner and less inclusive, more than ever, we need to look into our hearts and make a greater effort to narrow the gap.
And to be reminded that a stranger is only a person whose song or story we have never heard, until we are willing to listen.

We are made wise not by the recollection of the past, but by the responsibility for our future. George Bernard Shaw.
Knowledge and experience are of little value unless we put them to good practice. As we go about our days, living our personal destinies to the best of our abilities, how we spend our time is important. Aside from good health, time is the most precious of our assets. Everyday counts for when it’s gone, it’s gone.
We’re all so busy…. I know, but as you reflect upon your day, here are three questions to ask yourself:
Is what I am doing now moving me towards or away from my goals and aspirations?
Would my life be bigger if I chose to live it with fervour?
If I wanted a better answer to questions one and two, what fear would I have to confront and conquer?
Just asking….
