It’s Your Courage That Counts

In the flow of life, there is no in-between. You are either going forward or falling backwards. There is no standing still.

Whatever you new objective, the goal is not to let the temporary pain or fear cause your creative juices to stop flowing. Almost always, creating something new takes longer to accomplish than you expect.

It’s just one of life’s rules.

Stay strong. At the beginning of each day, it’s your courage that counts.

Be Yourself.

Never for the sake of peace and quiet deny your own experience. Dag Hammarskjold

We all have a story to tell. Time is marching on, faster than you think. Every moment of everyday counts. The thing is to use the time you have been given judiciously, doing what matters most to you.

Don’t be so taken with the success stories and exploits of others and how they live their lives that you get side tracked from living your own.

Don’t let others do your thinking, talking and deciding for you. That means taking control of your own life, getting absolutely clear about who you are, what you believe and how you want to spend your days. Most importantly, why.

It means consuming less and creating more, discarding time wasters and deciding to put down those old burdens you have been carrying around for longer than you can remember. It means finding time and ways to cut out the exterior noise and spend more quiet time with yourself.

Hold your best wishes and biggest goals close to your heart and work towards achieving them everyday. If you truly care about what you do and you work diligently at it, there is almost nothing that isn’t within your grasp.

You have everything you need to become what you are capable of becoming. When you commit to yourself and decide to tell your own story, you’ll never look back.

To quote Oscar Wilde, “Be yourself, everybody else is taken.”

Can You Feel The Tug?

The more you trust your intuition, the more empowered you become and, in turn, the happier.

To celebrate his 12th birthday Timothy took the kite he had bought himself with the money he had saved up and went to the park. It was a blustery, overcast afternoon, a perfect day for kite flying.

As he ran with it, his arm extended, in the stiff breeze breeze the kite flew higher and higher. The cord was so taut that he feared it might tear away from the kite, so slowly he let out the string.

The kite kept flying until it was out of sight.

A middle aged, dressed in a conservative suit approached him.

“What are you doing,” he asked?

“I’m flying a kite,sir,” Timothy replied.

“Flying a kite? What do you mean,” the man responded. “I don’t see the kite. You don’t see the kite. How do you know there is a kite?”

Gravely, Timothy looked at the man. “I know there’s a kite, sir, because I can feel the tug.”

In a way, life is like that. Life’s daily pressures and challenges can wear down your enthusiasm and resolve. Fresh solutions seem to allude you. Things aren’t as much fun. Worst of all, your courage gets thin. That’s deadly because when that happens your horizons begin to narrow.

Is this resonating? If it is, if you can’t feel the tug anymore and have been searching for some fresh ideas and inspiration to connect or reconnect with your kite, I invite you to attend my brand new seminar Step Into Life.

The first session is being held on Feb. 27. Watch this space for all the details to follow shortly.

Sharing

He who divides and shares is left with the best share. Mexican proverb.

sharing-drew-simmie

What is time if we don’t share it?

What is passion if we don’t share it?

What is experience if we don’t share it?

What is knowledge if we don’t share it?

What is love if we don’t share it?

What, indeed?

Hmmm… something to think about in our increasingly fractious, selfish, what’s in it for me world.

Need some help stepping up your game and sharing your gift with the world?  Let’s chat. Like me to speak to your group? I am easily reachable. Text/call 416.450.8867 or email drew@drewsimmie.com

Old-School Patience.

Patience is a virtue and I’m learning patience. Elon Musk.

patience-is-a-virtue-drew-simmie

Are you stressed out, doing what everybody else is doing, trying to compete in an already over-crowded market-place? Unhappy with the slow pace of your success?

Maybe it’s time to rethink your plans.

Our society is going through a period of change unlike anything we have experienced since the dawn of the industrial age. Whole industries have been up-ended. Globalization and technology have changed how we do practically everything.

To grow your enterprise or advance your career in today’s hard scrabble environment, you’ve got to tell your own story, work smarter and work hard. And have patience.

These days it seems there is an app for everything. With a click you’ll be there. Right? Wrong.

There is no app for overnight success. Overnight successes are rare. Think 1 in 10,000. The road to any worthwhile venture is long.

There are few Mozarts. Most of us have to resort to old-fashioned, old-school patience.

Have you made a conscious decision to improve your personal performance and live up to your potential? Let’s chat. Like me to speak to your group? I am easily reachable. Text/call 416.450.8867 or email drew@drewsimmie.com
