Keep On.

Go as far as you can go. When you get there, you’ll be able to see farther. Thomas Carlyle.

Of the many traits successful people exhibit, one of the most valuable is persistence. They have learned, usually through trial and error, that success doesn’t come over night. They know there are no quick fixes. No short cuts.

There is just hard slogging, consistency, generosity of spirit, transparency and an over-riding belief that when faced with a challenge they will prevail. Sometimes they don’t even know why. They just know that they will.

And so they keep on keeping on.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

I hope to see you here again soon.

Positive Self-Talk

Promise yourself  that you will talk health, happiness and prosperity as often as possible. John Wooden.

Success doesn’t magically land in your lap. There are a number of factors that determine your level of success. Among the many, top achievers know that positive self-talk has a huge bearing on their success.

Never underestimate the strong belief you have in yourself and the value of positive self-talk.  You have to constantly remind yourself that underpinning  all the work, sacrifice, commitment to your goal, your belief system ultimately determines your outcome.

If you don’t believe it you can’t do it. If you do,  you can.

Sunny Days!

Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you. Charlotte Witton.

So much of living well has to do with our attitude. Take OPTIMISM for a moment. Optimism creates opportunity; pessimism cuts it off at the knees. Expecting good things to happen leads to your taking positive, productive actions that keep you moving forward toward your goal.

It’s the old ‘glass half full or glass half empty’ thing. While some people are more naturally optimistic and hopeful than others, we all get up in the morning and decide how we see the day – is it a cloudy or a sunny day? It’s your call.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

I hope to see you here again soon.

Putting Everything In Order

To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; to  put the family in order, we must cultivate our personal life; and to cultivate our personal life, we must set our hearts right. Confucius.

Getting Through Life’s Storms

keep-moving-forward-drew-simmie

Life is divided into three terms – that which was, which is, and which will be. Let us learn from the past to profit by the present, and from the present, to live better in the future. William Wordsworth.

In our world of constant change, there is a community of accomplished women and men who, whenever they suffer a setback, steel themselves psychologically, and replying on a mixture of hope and persistence, jump right back into the fray and land on their feet.

Always up for the the next challenge, determined to stay relevant, they want to maximize their potential and be the best version of themselves that they can.

For some, that might mean simply sharpening their skills and  stepping up their current game. For others, it could well involve re-imagining themselves and striking out in a totally different direction.

Uncertainty, pessimism and negativity are everywhere. The work place is no longer the way it used to be. The very idea of work is changing. In today’s world, you’re either falling behind or moving ahead. There is no middle ground.

Life can be complicated. Living well doesn’t just happen. We all experience life storms and each time as we recover from them  it’s a good idea to stop for a time, to pause and pat ourselves on the back, and celebrate getting through them; gratefully recognizing that there is always something beautiful for you, if only you are you willing to see it.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

I look towards to seeing you here again soon.
