Be Your Real Self

Covid-19.  Week 13 of self-isolation

We must make the choices that enable us to fulfill the deepest capacities of our real selves. Thomas Merton.

Much of your success up until now has always been directly related to the amount of trust you have in yourself.

Never has the need to be our real selves been as important as it is in this Covid-19 era.

Keep on believing. The more you trust your intuition, the more confidant you become and the more empowered.

As society adapts everyday to the new playbook that is being rewritten, playing by the old rules isn’t going to cut it. Following your intuition to what will work in the new playbook is a must.

Give yourself credit. Doing what you feel in your gut is what has got you this far. You have all the skills and values you need. There is no reason why you can’t meet today’s challenges.

Just be your real self.

All Lives Matter

Covid-19.  Week 12 of self-isolation

Justice will only exist where those not affected by injustice are filled with the same amount of indignation as those of the offended. Plato.

When a baby comes into the world, she or he has no idea of the colour of their skin.

Black or brown… all lives matter.

Hmmm….

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

Life goes on.

Covid – 19.  Week 11 of self-isolation

It is in the shelter of each other that people live. Irish proverb.

As the weeks stretch out into months and the novelty of self-isolation starts to wear thin, we must steel our resolve, knowing that one day this pandemic will end.

Life goes on…

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay connected.

There is still time.

Covis-19  Week 10 of self-isolation.

To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must cultivate our personal life; and to cultivate our personal life, we must first set our hearts right. Confucius.

There’s an old adage that states the only thing that can change the direction of a country is a war or a depression. To that list we could add a third – a global pandemic.

This Covid-19 pandemic isn’t the first to strike humanity and it won’t be the last, but as we struggle to come to terms to with its impact, it is becoming clearer everyday that there have to be some serious changes made to our priorities and the way we are living. That calls for courageous, well-meaning, innovative leaders.

But in so many situations and circumstances, that brand of leadership is absent.

If we’re to fix what needs to be fixed, it is time for the current generation to pass the baton over to the next generation. So we can set our hearts right, get on to what’s truly important and begin moving forward again towards a better future.

There is still time….

Lessons learned the hard way

Covid-19   Week 9 of self-isolation

Excess generally causes reaction and produces a change in the opposite direction, whether it be in the seasons or in individuals or in governments. Plato.

The world we we’re in is slowly receding and we’re entering into the new one we are going to build. It will take time. We have a lot to undo and much to unlearn, but the best lessons learned can usually only be learned the hard way.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Be considerate.
